WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Both individuals
had been enthusiastic
cyclist in their younger years and had
originally met through two cycling clubs which are shown on the
signpost.
June worked for
Dior as a machinist before getting married but is still very keen
to get her sewing machine out so I included the Singer manual to
symbolise this. A weak cup of tea never goes amiss whilst
listening to the omnibus edition of the Archers before setting out
to do a spot of gardening with Alan
Titchmarsh.
Ken was an
electrician before retirement and had also been heavily involved
with St John’s Ambulance so no cycling trip would be complete
without emergency supplies for any eventuality! He was also a
District Commissioner for the Scouts and I have included some of
the badges on the reverse side of the saddlebag for good measure.
A nice slice of chocolate cake washed down by a glass of medium
dry sherry often assists one to retain the finer details relating
to British history.
They are members of
the National Trust and a handbook rests in the side pocket of the
saddlebag. A weekly visit to the local hall for ballroom dance
classes and their love of jazz music is also depicted.
