THE FIRE HYDRANT ~ RETIREMENT GIFT

The ‘Fire Officer's Retirement' depicts a key activity of the latter part of his 30 year service.

A hydrant post displaying his Brigade Number and details of his last fire station is accompanied by a working standpipe, key and bar. Great pains were taken to recreate the hydrant pit, making numerous trips down the road armed with a camera and obligatory heavy-duty lever.

No true Cornishman would be seen without his Cornish pasty as spotted in this scene!
